 Welcome to Barktivist

Hi, I’m Sophia - the artist, advocate, and heart behind Barktivist.

What started as love for my own rescue dog, Wyatt, slowly turned into something I never fully planned… a deep need to speak up for the ones who don’t get heard.

Barktivist was born from that place. From a desire to challenge stereotypes, celebrate resilience, and use art as a way to create impact. Every piece is hand-drawn by me and inspired by the spirit of animals and stories that are often overlooked, underestimated, or misunderstood - especially bully breeds like Wyatt.

But really… everything traces back to him.

Wyatt was rescued at 8 months old after surviving abuse no living being should ever experience. He came from trauma, from neglect, from circumstances that should have hardened him. And yet somehow, he didn’t become what the world might have expected. He became curious. Gentle. Forgiving in a way that still doesn’t make sense some days.

He never got justice for what he went through. But he also never gave the world the anger it assumed he would.

And that changed me.

Because once you love a dog like that, you start seeing the world differently. Not just in how it treats certain breeds, but in how quickly it labels anything it doesn’t take time to understand. That awareness didn’t stay contained to the rescue world. It spread into how I see people, stories, and injustice in all its forms.

Barktivist became the outlet for that awareness.

Not just art for dog lovers, but storytelling for underdogs of every kind. A space where compassion, fairness, and visibility matter just as much as creativity.

We also donate 10% of monthly profits to animal rescues and humanitarian nonprofits, because this has never just been about what we make - nit’s about what we stand for.

And Wyatt… well, he’s still here in all of it. The reason it started. The reminder of why it matters. And very firmly of the opinion that snacks are a basic human obligation.
